About the Artist

Hi, I’m Caroline, the artist behind Little Sea Company. Living in The Hague, close to the North Sea, the ocean has always been a big source of inspiration for me. Some of my first drawings were of old nautical boats battling rough seas, sharks, rolling waves and surfers — and over time, that love for the water has found its way into almost everything I create.

Having always lived near the water, I’m fascinated by how no two coastlines are quite the same. Every beach has its own character and little treasures to discover — from shells washed ashore to the incredible species living just beneath the surface.

Little Sea Company grew from that curiosity. Through my drawings, I want to celebrate the beauty of our oceans, but also encourage people to learn a little more about what lives in them and the challenges these species face. Alongside the artwork, I hope to share information about the species I draw, including their IUCN conservation status and issues affecting our oceans such as overfishing and changing marine ecosystems.

My work is still growing and evolving with me, but at its heart is something that has always been there: a love and curiosity for the sea. I hope my drawings encourage people to notice the small details, discover something they didn’t know before, and perhaps feel a little more connected to the waters and wildlife around us.

Because the more we know about our oceans, the more reason we have to care for them.

About the Drawings

Inspired by the quiet beauty of the sea and the natural world, these drawings began with a simple idea: to capture familiar things in a gentle, uncomplicated way.

From fish, shells and sea creatures to small details found in nature, each piece is drawn by hand using soft colours and simple forms. I wanted the collection to feel light, calm and a little imperfect — keeping the charm of the original hand-drawn artwork.
